School Tools
outreach program's mission is to ensure that Aiken County students
enter school with the
basic school supplies needed to
succeed. This program was created in 2002 and has since grown
tremendously. In 2007,
over 3500 underprivileged children received school supplies. With
the help of
area organizations, businesses,
churches, and individuals, United Way hopes to continue to make this
program even more successful.
The communications committee is already working hard to
prepare for
the 2008-2009 school year. United
Way will be accepting donations of school supplies or monetary
donations for School
Tools until July 25, 2008. If you would like
more information regarding this
program, or if you would
like to make a donation, please call Candis Moyer at
(803)648-8331.
Please join us in this effort to provide children
in need in Aiken County with the proper tools needed
to be
successful. After all, we all win when a child succeeds in school!

Be a Bunny is
our spring outreach
program that encourages local businesses, organizations, churches,
schools
and individuals to make baskets filled
with comfort items for senior citizens in
Aiken County.
This year
the community provided nearly 1,000 beautiful baskets that were
given to Aiken Area Council
on Agings meals on wheels and
congregate dining clients as well as other disadvantaged seniors in the
area!
This program also began in 2002 and with the help of the
community it continues to be successful. If you
have any
questions or if you are interested in participating in the 2009 Be a Bunny
outreach program,
please call Candis Moyer at (803)648-8331.
