School Tools outreach program's mission is to ensure that Aiken County students enter school with the
basic school supplies needed to succeed. This program was created in 2002 and has since gro
wn
tre
mendously. In 2007, over 3500 underprivileged children received school supplies.  With the help of
area
organizations, businesses, churches, and individuals, United Way hopes to continue to make this
program even
more successful.  The communications committee is already working hard to prepare for
the 2008-2009 school y
ear.  United Way will be accepting donations of school supplies or monetary
donations for School Tools until July 25, 2008.  If you would
like more information regarding this
program, or if you would like to make a donation, please call Candis Moyer at (803)648-8331.
Please join us in this effort to provide children in need in Aiken County with the proper tools needed
to be successful.  After all, we all win when a child succeeds in school!

This year the community provided nearly 1,000 beautiful baskets that were
given to Aiken Area Council
on Agings meals on wheels and congregate dining clients as well as other disadvantaged seniors in the area!
This program also began in 2002 and with the help of the community it continues to be successful.  If you
