Women's Leadership Council (WLC) is a new kind of philanthropy based on a belief in the collective power of women to improve the lives of Aiken County’s women and children.
Founded in 2015, WLC is dedicated to transforming Aiken through active and specific philanthropic investment to tackle our community’s challenges. Designated funds collected from fundraising activities are used to award grants that advance the health, safety, education and economic status of Aiken County’s women and children.
Educational opportunities are offered to our membership to help each of us become better informed and more effective donors.
Every member brings different talents to our cause. Whether you bring your skills, personal contacts, community knowledge or time, you can make a difference.
Mission and Focus Areas
The Mission is to advance the health, safety, education and economic status of Aiken County’s women and children.
WLC will consider funding programs/projects/initiatives from organizations that demonstrate the ability to achieve measurable results. Priority will be given to projects and organizations that demonstrate a high probability of sustainability beyond the grant period, fostering permanent change and having a long-term positive impact on Aiken County’s women and children.
